Starpoint Gemini Warlords Suggestions Mega Thread

Some of those things are already planned. Planets look bad because currently you can get too close to them anyway. That will be changed. Thank you for your feedback.

I would like to see a little less immersive breaking ways of introducing story lines, etc. For example in warlords I want to capture a territory by attacking the garrison. On the way to said garrison I am attacked by 6 ships, but i can just fly past them to the garrison and the zone is reset for me and my fleet to engage the ships from the garrison. This to me is one of the most irritating things in SPGW right now.

The fleet I chose to engage that garrison should also actually have to travel to the location, not just appear at the garrison when I do. I think I should also be able to travel to said location with my fleet. Even set patrol paths for fleets.

I also don't like seeing so many other ships in my sectors that I have no control over but are still apart of "Concord". That's a lot of security fleets that I didn't build, it just seems like random void fillers for the game, where our civilian fleets should be seen flying about with security escorts that we as players should also have direct control in managing if we so chose to. Other warlords should be able to engage those fleets and destroy them, capturing the goods and damaging my economy if I don't intervene or set up a sturdy enough escort ,and I could do the same to them.

Endless tactical applications can be imagined and then visually implemented sensibly to simulate something (anything!) for the economy of these warlords and ways to do the same for the open warfare between them. No economy, no materials, no ships. No gases, your civilian fleets arent doing much trading, and your bases of any kind can't run infinitely. No ore, no weapons, components, ammunition, repairs.

I would very much prefer to see traffic in my sectors that I managed and can see has purpose rather than hordes of ships just flying about.....just because.

The immersion of this universe however goes out the window (For me) how it currently stands, much like SPG2 because you know most of what you are looking at is quite literally there to fill space.

I understand the most simplistic routes of doing this in the design of a game may sound just that, and I know it's not. I very much enjoyed SPG2 for what it was and though I was aware of those little things that bothered me, I still enjoyed the game. I am just hoping this does not continue in Warlords where we are actually managing what may as well be called a Space Age Empire.

We are no longer represented alone with our Crew and our self interests in SPG2 but a rising Nation for better or worse, and it should feel like that.... except it's space. Heart

Many things will change, including territory expansion, this was just a basic implementation so you can see what we are aiming for, but that's far from finished. New update is coming in September so stay tuned. Smile

Looks like in current beta you've messed up with all ranges in game and multiplied all of them to 10. In this state all looks broken: view and spot ranges, firing ranges.
